Cops swarmed leafy Haresfield Close at around 8.30pm on Saturday after getting frantic calls.
They tragically found the body of Wendy and a second woman, understood to be her daughter, was raced to hospital as she fought for her life.
A murder probe was quickly launched and a man, 50, arrested.
Cops today said 50-year-old Damian Homer had been charged with the murder of Wendy, and attempted murder of the 38-year-old woman.
He will appear in the Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court this morning.
West Mercia Police added that the 38-year-old woman remains in a stable condition in hospital.
Wendy’s heartbroken family paid tribute to her yesterday.
The loved ones said in a statement: “Wendy will be hugely missed; she was one in a million and much-loved.”
Neighbours claimed it was Wendy’s daughter who was attacked alongside her, as they told of their shock around the deaths.
Neighbour Andy Fowler, 62, has lived on the street his whole life and said he knew the mum well.
He said: “It has always been a good street.
“I saw the ambulance working on somebody and the police were holding a blanket around it, so I knew that something serious was going on.
“I know them very well. They are very good friends of mine.
“I am very shocked I can’t believe it.”
Another neighbour, who asked not to be named but is in his 70s, said: “We’ve been here for 25 years and never had any bother, it’s a lovely quiet street.
“We’re shocked, we wouldn’t have expected it.”
Friends and family paid tribute to Wendy on social media.
One said: “So sad. I remember Wendy and she was a lovely lady. Thoughts are with her loved ones.”
Another said: “Sleep tight Wen, your family and friends will miss you. You’ve left a huge hole in so many lives. You will be forever a warrior – protecting the ones you loved.”
While a third said: “Sad news to wake up to. Such a loving caring person that would do anything for everyone.
“She will be sadly missed. Shocked.”
