The 32-year-old was rushed to hospital but tragically couldn’t be saved and was declared dead shortly after.

Michael Ormandy, 34, has now been charged with murder after he was arrested on the night of the tragedy.

He has been remanded into custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

Merseyside Police previously confirmed they were called to the home at around 10.30pm following reports of a stabbing.

They said the incident was “domestic” and revealed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the horror.

Rebekah’s family have paid tribute in a moving statement released through police.

They said: “Rebekah was our everything. She was a happy young woman with her whole life ahead of her and had a genuine heart of gold, if it meant putting herself out to help someone, she wouldn’t hesitate.

“We are so proud of her. She was a support for vulnerable people and would use her own experiences to make other lives better.

“We are so grateful for all the messages of condolences, and we didn’t realise how many people’s lives Rebekah had touched, which just reiterates to us how special she was.”

Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting reference number 25000309360.

Alternatively, ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
