A MAN has died while trying to cross the English Channel to the UK.
He suffered a cardiac arrest while on board a boat that was heading for British shores.

The boat had turned back towards Equihen beach in northern France on Saturday morning.
French authorities confirmed that a man was in cardiac arrest when the boat docked on the beach.
Emergency services rushed to the scene but were unable to save the man, who sadly died soon after.
According to UK Home Office provisional statistics, almost 24,000 people have arrived on small boats in the UK in 2025.
An investigation is underway, and will need to determine the circumstances that led to the man’s death.
Later on Saturday an unrelated RNLI lifeboat carried migrants who have made the voyage into the Port of Dover.
Pictures taken by the PA news agency showed a group of migrants huddled under blankets and orange life jackets aboard the boat.
The institution has saved dozens of migrants that have faced difficulty in the waters.
Migrants can then be brought to shore for medical attention.
Another man died in April after Kent Police were called to a medical incident.
The RNLI launched its all-weather lifeboat to bring the group of migrants safely to Dover.
It comes amid mounting pressure on the government to act with a number of anti-illegal immigration protests across the UK this week.
Protests in Epping began outside the Bell Hotel after the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl.
An Ethiopian asylum seeker was charged with the assault days after arriving in the UK on a small boat.
Epping Forest District Council voted in favour of closing down the hotel, which has been used to house migrants since 2020.
On Thursday, a crowd of 200 protesters gathered outside The Bell Hotel to express their discontent with it being used to house migrants.
They wore signs and t-shirts with slogans displayed on them while chanting “save our kids” in the heavy rain.
Officers from at least six forces outside of the county attended to try and keep the peace – and Essex Police have come under heavy criticism.
Elsewhere, protesters have expressed outrage after the Britannia Hotel was blocked off in preparation for migrants to arrive.
The London-based hotel boasts 500 rooms, with 400 beds being reserved by the Home Office.
It has agreed a cost of £81 per night for each migrant who stays there.
The Home Office reserves beds in empty hotel rooms in case of a surge in crossings over the summer period.
Home Office sources revealed to The Sun that the average cost per night for a hotel room for a migrant is now £118.87, down from £162.16 in March 2023.
