KOBBIE MAINOO and Alejandro Garnacho look certain to be sold by cash-strapped Manchester United this summer.

The club remains in a financial mess and selling two of the first team’s biggest assets is now a priority to ease the pressure.

Bruno Fernandes has also suggested he could leave but United will not want to offload their skipper.

Argentine star Garnacho, 20, a potential target for Chelsea, would be open to a move away from Old Trafford.

He was unhappy at being on the sub’s bench for Wednesday’s 1-0 loss to Spurs in the Europa League final. He is worth around £45million.

England midfielder Mainoo is worth around £55m and there would not be a shortage of takers even though he has suffered an inconsistent season due to form and injury.

Having been with the club all of his career, the sale of Mainoo, 20, would also help United keen in line with profit and sustainability rules as he would be 100 per cent profit.

Other players such as Marcus Rashford and Antony, who have been on loan at Aston Villa and Real Betis respectively, will also be sold in what is likely to be a turbulent summer at United.

Jadon Sancho is also expected to leave amid links to Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea are set to pay the Red Devils £5m not to sign the winger on a permanent basis.

Fernandes has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia but he reconfirmed his commitment to the club.

He said: “I have always been honest. I’ve always said I will be here until the club says to me that it’s time to go.

“I’m eager to do more, to be able to bring the club the great days.

“In the day that the club thinks that I’m too much or it’s time to part ways, football is like this, you never know it. But I’ve always said it and I keep my word in the same way.

“If the club thinks it’s time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it’s what it is, and football sometimes is like this.”
