This has led to shock reports that academy starlets Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho could be sold – with homegrown players worth 100 per cent profit.
The pair have been valued at around £70million each, with Chelsea reportedly keen on Mainoo.
In addition to Mainoo and Garnacho, £72m striker Rasmus Hojlund could also be flogged.
According to the Mail, Leny Yoro and Amad Diallo are the only two players that club bosses view as “untouchable”.
Yoro, 19, signed for the Red Devils from Lille in a £52m deal last summer.
The Frenchman missed the start of the season with an ankle injury sustained in pre-season, but has featured in United’s last seven Premier League games.
Diallo, meanwhile, has been a rare bright spark in United’s disappointing season.
The Ivorian has scored three goals and laid on six assists in 18 Premier League appearances this term.
