MANCHESTER UNITED’S miserable start to the season continued after they were brushed aside by neighbours Man City.
Ruben Amorim‘s side were unable to come back with a bang after the international break, falling to a 3-0 away defeat.

Phil Foden opened the scoring for City after just 18 minutes with a glancing header that gave Altay Bayindir little chance to stop.
While Erling Haaland did what he does best by bagging a second-half brace to put the hosts out of reach.
United now sit 14th in the table, with City leapfrogging them with their second win of the season.
Here’s how SunSport’s Katherine Walsh rated each Man. Utd. player’s performance…
ALTAY BAYINDIR – 3
Looked shaky again after getting the nod ahead of new signing Senne Lammens.
But he was left vulnerable by his team-mates as Haaland had a one-on-one field day.
The Turkey international was flatfooted to Haaland’s fast chance in the opening 18 seconds and irked the home crowd with his lengthy restarts that went unnoticed by Anthony Taylor.
Another instant error almost gifted Haaland another goal in the opening five minutes after the United stopper failed to control a back pass.

NOUSSAIR MAZRAOUI – 3
Was thrown in the deep end for his first start of the season back from injury.
Struggled to remember a time he positively influenced proceedings after linking up well with Bryan Mbeumo at times, but to no effect.
MATTHIJS DE LIGT – 3
Left Foden completely unmarked inside the six yard box was all over the place after United went behind, clearing the ball straight into Leny Yoro in his own box.
Struggled to handle Haaland, but who doesn’t?

LENY YORO – 4
Started strongly but was soon rattled after playing a hand in leaving Foden unmarked for the England star’s opener.
Easily brushed off the ball by Doku in the build up to City’s second goal and was replaced by Harry Maguire soon afterwards.
LUKE SHAW – 2
Shown up at every level after being embarrassed in the box by Doku for the opener and sent in aimless crosses into the box when United got on the ball more.
The England full-back was then easily outmuscled by Haaland for 2-0 inside 52 minutes. Maybe it woke him up as Shaw got back to make a crucial last ditch tackle on Haaland soon after 2-0.
But embarrassingly got caught on the ball by Bernado Silva with zero United players in their own half which unleashed Haaland’s second.
PATRICK DORGU – 4
Was almost a full blown winger in the first half as City played through the middle but was caught out a few times by the home side’s quick midfield.
The Danish star was hesitant in the build up to the first goal but came out on top in his duel with Bernando Silva.
MANUEL UGARTE – 3
Bold call to play two players who struggled to cleanly tackle in the midfield pivot, but the Uruguay international did add a physical edge at times and crucially got back to stop Bernando Silva quickly breaking away early on.
But old habits soon returned as his turned back saw the ball bounce off him for Doku’s assist for Foden’s header.
His reckless back pass put De Ligt in all sorts of trouble after the Netherlands defender scrambled to clear into the path of Haaland was inches away from tripling the lead.
And his short ball into Shaw led to City’s third.

BRUNO FERNANDES – 4
Just as United’s skipper did for Emile Smith Rowe’s equaliser at Fulham, Fernandes failed to track Foden’s run for the opener.
The Portugal star is clearly not entirely comfortable with his new deeper role and was caught out too high up the pitch at times.
His frustration spilled over to poor crosses and attacking play. Not at the races today, but none of his team-mates were either.
AMAD DIALLO – 5
Played left in place of the injured Mathues Cunha and tried his hand at emulating Wayne Rooney’s famous overhead kick before Foden scored.
With City dominating, Amad struggled to have his usual impact.
BRYAN MBEUMO – 5
United’s greatest forward asset skied his first shot at goal after struggling to get on the ball as City dominated the opening half-an-hour.
His lonely opening half saw the former Brentford star lose the ball in a dangerous position for a City break.
Mbeumo continues to be the out-ball but his end product was lacking after his volley was the only sniff of action that threatened Prem debutant Guianluigi Donnarumma.

BENJAMIN SESKO – 4
One chance on his full debut and the 22-year-old didn’t take it. He must be pounding his head over why he didn’t pick St James’ Park over Old Trafford.
The Slovenian striker was starved off service from then on – he’s had no luck since making his £73million move from RB Leipzig, losing four of his first five games.
SUBS
HARRY MAGUIRE (for Yoro, 62mins) – 2
Instead of firming things up, Maguire made things worse.
The defender’s loose ball to Silva on halfway put Shaw under immense pressure with acres of space behind him for Haaland to run in to.
KOBBIE MAINOO (for Mazraoui, 62mins) – 4
Didn’t get a sniff of action after being brought on a 2-0, but didn’t put a foot wrong in comparison to his team-mates.
CASEMIRO (for Ugarte, 80mins) – N/A
Shock omission after starting United’s first three Prem games and starring for Brazil during the international break.
Couldn’t get on the end of a cross to grab one back for his side.
JOSHUA ZIRKZEE (for Sesko, 80mins) – N/A
