Gore made his senior debut last week, coming off the bench in the Carabao Cup win over Crystal Palace.

However, he was back with the under-21s for their Premier League 2 trip to Blackburn on Saturday.

The teenager captained the side as they won 5-2 but it was his individual strike which stole the show.

Gore collected the ball inside the centre circle in the 68th minute before skipping past three opposition players as he charged forward.

He then fired a powerful left-footed strike into the back of the net from inside the area.

His goal restored United’s lead after they had twice been pegged back by their hosts, with the Red Devils going on to score two more on route to victory.

Footage of Gore’s solo effort has since gone viral on social media, with his team-mates even comparing him to Messi.

Defender Rhys Bennett commented: “Messi, Messi, Messi,” whilst left-back Sam Murray responded with a gift of the World Cup winner celebrating a goal for Barcelona.

United fans were also left drooling over Gore’s dribbling ability, with one writing: “Get him in the first team.”

Meanwhile, another added: “The kid continues to impress.”

Gore joined United’s academy from Burnley back in 2018 before progressing into their under-21 side.

As well as making his debut last week, he has also been on the bench in both the Premier League and Champions League so far this term.
