JAVI GUERRA has reportedly rejected a contract offer from Valencia amid interest from Manchester United.

The 22-year-old has been on the Red Devils’ shortlist for the past 18 months after lighting up LaLiga in midfield.

Man Utd target Javi Guerra has rejected a contract offer from ValenciaRex

Guerra, who stands at 6ft 2in tall, has scored eight goals in 89 games for Valencia as a box-to-box whiz.

He’s been tipped for a senior Spain call-up after 21 caps for their U21s.

And United are said to be interested in bringing Guerra to England.

Now, Marca claims they have been given a huge boost after the ace rejected a new contract offer.

Valencia are eager to tie him down to fresh terms, with Guerra’s current deal expiring in 2027.

Should they sell, Valencia want £18m in cash.

Bizarrely, United are reportedly willing to pay £22m.

But there’s a catch, as Guerra is part-owned by Valencia’s Spanish rivals Villarreal.

They hold 30 per cent of his rights.

And with Valencia demanding at least £18m, it means United would have to actually offer £25m.

Whether a bid arrives for Guerra this summer remains to be seen, with the Red Devils well-stocked in midfield.

Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo and Casemio are all natural holders, while Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount are also capable of going in the two.

Toby Collyer impressed when featuring there last season too.

And United may feel they need to strengthen other areas of the squad first.
