MASON Greenwood could soon return to international football as Jamaica’s head coach has revealed he ‘would love’ to coach the ex-Man Utd star.
Greenwood previously played just one senior game for England – but is eligible to play for Jamaica because of his heritage via his mother’s side.
Greenwood played one match for England
He would be permitted to switch nations under FIFA rules as he played less than three games for England.
And now head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson has admitted he would love to have Greenwood on his squad.
He told The Athletic: “I really don’t like to talk about ‘what if’, but this, of course, has come to our mind.
“I would love to have him in my team. Like all coaches, I would like to have the best players in our team, but it’s always up to the player himself if he wants to do it.”
Greenwood has been on loan at La Liga club Getafe since Old Trafford bosses ruled last September that his future lay elsewhere, after attempted rape and assault charges against him were dropped.
Mason lives with partner Harriet and their baby daughter Summer in Madrid.
