MASON Greenwood is said to be “happy” and keen to keep playing after reportedly making a big decision on his LaLiga loan.

Greenwood, 22, headed to the Spanish top flight last month after bosses ruled he could not continue his career at Old Trafford after an off-field probe.

Mason Greenwood is reportedly keen to stay at GetafeRex

And the striker scored to earn a draw against Celta Vigo last Sunday.

Greenwood spoke out after scoring his first professional goal for nearly two years following his loan move to the Spanish outfit.

He said online post-match: “Happy to score my first goal for Getafe.

“Amazing team spirit to come away with a point.”

Now, a source has told SunSport he is happy and hoping to stay at the Madrid-based club for the foreseeable future, saying: “The players and fans have all given him a welcome he could only have dreamed of.

“He really feared his career was over. Now he’s just so happy and  wants to carry on playing and not think too far ahead.”

Greenwood was arrested in January last year following charges of attempted rape, assault and coercive control.

However, all charges were dropped in February by the Crown Prosecution Service.

The striker – who has denied any wrongdoing – was provided with a pathway back to football by La Liga side Getafe.

He arrived at Getafe on deadline day this summer and made his debut on September 17.

And the former England international has made five appearances for so far.

Utd must make a decision on his future soon, with his contract expiring in the summer of 2025.

Meanwhile, according to the MirrorSevilla are lining up a swoop for Greenwood – whose United contract expires in the summer of 2025.

The Red Devils are believed to still be paying the majority of his £75,000 a week wages.

Sevilla won last season’s Europa League, qualifying for this season’s Champions League in the process.
