MASON GREENWOOD would snub a move to Barcelona if the door was reopened to him at Manchester United.
The 22-year-old believes he has a “debt” to repay United fans and the manager Erik Ten Hag.

A source close to the player told SunSport: “Mason respected the decision Manchester United made to send him to Spain, but he always wanted to return to the team after the police investigation involving him came to an end.
“He believes he has a debt to repay the fans and the manager and would love a second chance.
“To him, Manchester United is the biggest and best club in the world and if a chance emerged for him to go back he would.
“Barcelona are among a number of clubs interested in signing him.
“But if United threw him a lifeline to resurrect his career at Old Trafford, he’d be on the quickest flight home.”
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the new co-owner of Manchester United, this week hinted Greenwood could return to Old Trafford.
He said: “It’s a fresh decision. I can talk about the principle. I am not going to talk about Mason.
“I am familiar with it. The principle is the important one. We will have other issues going forward.

“You are dealing with young people who have not always been brought up in the best circumstances, who have a lot of money and they don’t always have the guidance they should have.
“What we need to do when we have issues like that is understand real effects, not the hype.
“Then we need to make a fair decision in the light of the club’s values. That’s what we need to do and that’s how we will deal with it.”
Earlier this year, the SunSport revealed Greenwood was edging closer to a summer switch to Barcelona.
The Spanish giants have been monitoring the former one-cap England international all season during his loan spell at Getafe.
And the Nou Camp club had hoped to tie up a deal soon to make him a Barcelona player in June.
Greenwood previously told his advisors that a Barcelona transfer would be a “dream move”.
However, Red Devils boss Ten Hag is open to reintroducing the forward into the first team at Old Trafford again, more than two years on from his 129th and most recent appearance for the club.
That came in January 2022 before his United suspension and arrest on suspicion of attempted rape, assault and coercive control.
All charges against Greenwood were dropped in February last year.
Our source added: “Ten Hag was always keen to keep Mason but that decision, in the end, was taken out of his hands.
“If the chance emerges for the player to come back then he’d instantly become a key part of Ten Hag’s plans.”
