The plane was heading to Los Angeles International Airport but reportedly lost a tire before departure.

The jolt was so powerful that it forced an oxygen mask to be deployed and the overhead storage bins to open.

The plane continued to Los Angeles where it made an emergency landing.

Chilling footage shared on X by one traveler showed the moment passengers were bracing for impact.

There were 175 passengers on the plane, including school children.

Video captured the moment they repeatedly chanted, “Heads down, stay down” inside the dark cabin.

Passengers said the cabin shook as the plane prepared for landing.

“They got us in the brace position,” traveler Brent Drewette told the ABC affiliate KABC.

“It was 10 seconds of really violent shaking.”

Others revealed they had to stay composed so their children wouldn’t be scared.

“I had to remain really calm for my daughter,” Allison Mueller told the outlet.

Alaska Airlines officials confirmed there were no injuries and that the emergency landing in Los Angeles was just a precaution.

Passengers applauded once the plane was on the ground.

Airport crews at LAX investigated the plane once it touched down.

And, workers at Dulles Airport found debris on the runway.

Alaska Airlines has also launched a probe into what caused the Boeing 737-900 jet to lose the tire.

“We understand this might have been a concerning moment for our guests on board. We apologize for what they experienced,” a spokesperson told KABC.
