Jurors have been told in the 11 years since she vanished, Osment has told several people he killed Claire, 32, or paid someone else to do it.
In bodycam footage of his arrest played to Bristol Crown Court, he can be heard saying: “I didn’t do it. But I had it arranged.”
Osment also tells police he’s had enough “ducking and diving, looking over my shoulder and all the rest of it”.
He adds: “I’ve had enough. I just wanna get it, whatever’s done is done. I can’t turn back the clock. I want to get it deal with.
“I had her killed. I hired…I gave some money to someone and they had it done.”
The court was also played a 999 call from 2019 where Osment told the operator he wanted to “hand himself in” for murder.
He tells them he wants the “monkey off my back” and that he “sort of” murdered his ex.
Osment adds: “I know what happened.
“I just want this off my back. I feel very so f***ing bad. I have had it for years on my head and now.”
The alleged killer continues: “I basically arranged it didn’t I.”
He then tells the handler: “I’ve took the law in my own hands and you know she took my son away from me so I took that from her.”
When asked what he took from her, Osment adds: “Well her f***ing life really….I’m not proud of it, my kid still asks Mother’s Days and things like that. Like at the time I was younger wasn’t I.
“I was young and angry.”
The couple met in 2008 when they worked in a cafe, with their first child born two years later.
Tensions rose between the pair after Claire continued to drink through her pregnancy, it was said.
The court heard on the night she vanished, Claire told pals she was meeting Osment when he finished work as a chef.
She left the pub drunk with no keys, no phone and an unknown amount of money on her.
There has been no trace of Claire since with police still searching for her body.
Osment, of Patchway, South Gloucestershire, has pleaded not guilty to murder on a date between June 5 and June 8, 2012.
The trial continues.
