Moment man is flung through the air as car slams into him while he crosses road in front of horrified passersby

SHOCKING footage shows the moment a man crossing the road is flung through the air after a car ploughs into him.

The horror video was captured on CCTV from a nearby property in Forest Gate, London.

A 47-year-old man was involved in the crash but only suffered “minor injuries”, said cops.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene with no arrests made, confirmed the Metropolitan Police.

The footage beings by showing a man looking left and right before crossing Katherine Road with the coast seemingly clear.

But a black car then comes hurtling out of nowhere towards the pedestrian.

The 47-year-old tries to get out of the way but is not quick enough to get to the curb.

Stunned bystanders then watched on in horror as the man was sent somersaulting into the air.

The car came to a screeching halt and the driver appeared to open the door to check on the man.

Cops miraculously confirmed that the man did not suffer any serious or life-changing injuries despite the horrific smash.

Police confirmed that the driver of the car “stopped at the scene”.

The man hit by the car is said to be in a stable condition.

The driver is helping police with the ongoing investigation.

No arrests are yet to be made, said the force.

Cops urged anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward immediately.

A Met Police spokeswoman said: “Police were alerted at 16:09hrs on Friday, 7 March to an incident in Katherine Road, Forest Gate, where a pedestrian appeared to have been hit by a car at 16:09hrs that day.

“A 47-year-old man suffered minor injuries in the incident, which are said to be non life-changing or non life-threatening.

“He remains in a stable condition.

“The car stopped at the scene and the driver has been helping police with their enquiries, which are ongoing.

“No arrests have been made.

“If you were a witness, please call police on 101 with reference 5206/7Mar.”
