THIS is the shocking moment a thief used a terrifying method to steal a mum’s prized Ford Fiesta in just 20 seconds.
Disturbing CCTV footage showed a thief taking just 20 seconds to climb into the car through the boot and then close it.

He climbed in head first
The incident was caught on CCTV
The crook was caught on camera prising open the boot of the 65 plate Fiesta before climbing into the car head first over the rear seats.
He then reappears to close the boot before climbing into the driver’s seat.
After a couple of minutes the car thief mounted the kerb before reversing the car down Edgbaston Road in Birmingham.
The woman who owns the car was asleep when it was stolen from outside her home.
The mum’s son, who wished to stay anonymous, said the family had already taken precautions to prevent theft, including keeping the car keys in a signal blocking Faraday pouch.
However, this didn’t appear to prevent the thief from getting into the car.
The owner’s son said: “I had a look out the window and the car wasn’t there, we played back the CCTV and we noticed the car had gone, we called the police, there’s no sign of the car or anything.”
He said his mum is a self-employed tailor, and relies on her car: “She uses it to get about and do her daily business, not only that she’s gone really upset and quiet, she’s been upset by it.
“Mum bought it for her birthday present last year, it hasn’t even been a year, and it’s been pinched outside.”
CCTV footage shows the man kneeling down by the driver’s side of the car, when the brake lights come on.
He appears to walk away, open the boot and climb into the vehicle. Around two minutes go by, and the car is then shown lurching back and forth onto the pavement before finally speeding off.
The family tried to track down the car, with no luck. They said: “A few days ago another vehicle got stolen from the area, we’ve skirted the whole area, gone from Balsall Heath to Sparkhill, there’s no sign of the car.”
Recalling how brazen the theft was, he explained: “My mother was asleep, my sister was in her bedroom and noticed it, she said she heard some sort of noise but looked out and noticed the car wasn’t there.
“We even had a Farady security bag, we took precautions to protect it, we had that magnetic pouch, and even then it was taken.”
And he is determined to warn others, particularly Ford Fiesta owners: “People to be more vigilant, even buying a steering lock.
“We are annoyed, we pay our taxes, people going around pinching people’s cars, God forbid what if there was something in the car, how would we get it?”
West Midlands Police are investigating the incident. A spokesperson said to The Sun : “We are investigating after a Ford Fiesta was stolen from a property on Edgbaston Road, Balsall Heath, last Friday between 10.20pm and 11.50pm.
