A mum is accused of killing her baby
Prosecutors claim Gartshore, of Aberdeen, also wilfully neglected the three-month-old and another child on the day leading up to the September 2023 tragedy at a home in Peterhead
The culpable homicide charge states Dahlia Rose’s injuries were so severe that she passed away as a result.
Gartshore — also known as Courtney McCready — faces a separate accusation that she drank alcohol to excess and did “co-sleep” with the baby while intoxicated.
She is claimed to have had the youngsters in “unsanitary conditions” and “sole care” of Dahlia Rose when she died.
Gartshore is further accused of being in possession of cocaine and the class B stimulant mephedrone.
Dirty nappies, spoiled food and alcohol are alleged to have littered the property.
Gartshore was excused from attending when the case called for a short hearing at the High Court in Glasgow yesterday.
But her lawyer Murray Macara KC said: “She pleads not guilty.”
He and prosecutor Alan Cameron KC asked for a trial to be set.
Lord Mulholland fixed it for July next year at the High Court in Aberdeen.
The judge said: “The case is estimated to last 10 days.”
