Mum-of-two accused of ‘teaming up with crime gang to kidnap and kill ex’ appears in court after he died in acid attack

A MUM accused of teaming up with a crime gang to kill her ex has appeared in court after he died in an acid attack.

Paris Wilson, 34, allegedly plotted to murder Danny Cahalane, who was targeted at his home in Plymouth, Devon, in February.

The dad, 38, was rushed to hospital but could not be saved and died ten weeks later on May 3.

Wilson appeared at Plymouth Crown Court today charged with conspiracy to murder and kidnap and participating in the activity of an organised crime group.

The ex-probation officer spoke only to confirm her name as she appeared in the dock alongside Jenna Said, 38, who is charged with the same offences.

Both women were remanded into custody ahead of a hearing on June 2.

Seven men – Abdulrasheed Adedoja, 22, Jean Mukuna, 23, Isanah Sungum, 21, Ramarnee Bakas, 22, Arrone Mukuna, 24, and Brian Kalemba, 22 – also appeared in court today on the same charges.

Adedoja, Jean Mukuna, Ramarnee Bakas and Arrone Mukuna each face a further charge of conspiring to acquire, use or possess criminal property.

A ninth defendant, Israel Augustus, 25, is charged with applying a corrosive fluid with intent to burn, maim, disfigure or do grievous bodily harm, aggravated burglary, possession of an offensive weapon, and drug offences.

They were also remanded into custody to appear for the plea hearing on June 2.

The horror unfolded on February 21 as Danny’s daughter was sleeping upstairs.

Following the attack, he was taken to a hospital outside Plymouth for his own safety.

His family said in a statement: “As a family, we are struggling to come to terms with Danny’s passing.

“Danny was an outstanding father and son. Danny and his mum had so much love for each other. 

“He is well loved by his family and friends and as a family we cherish his love and memories.

“We ask the family are please given privacy and respect during this time.”

Mum-of-two Wilson previously worked as a probation officer in the city’s Barbican area — helping released criminals with housing and jobs

She also volunteered at Dartmoor Prison, teaching male inmates to read and write.

Wilson spoke only to confirm her identity

She has been charged along with eight other people
