THE Museum of Liverpool was cordoned off today after police found a “suspicious device”.
Emergency services were called to the museum, which was hosting a fringe event at the Labour party conference, at the Pier Head in Liverpool at around 10.50am.

A police cordon was erected around the building and pictures from the scene showed a bomb disposal vehicle parked outside.
The Museum of Liverpool was evacuated but the “suspicious item” was later confirmed to be an old WWII training device.
It was found to be safe and posed no risk to the public. The museum has since reopened.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We would like to thank members of the public for their patience whilst the incident was dealt with by our officers.
“Merseyside Police responds immediately to any incidents of concern for safety and the safety of residents and visitors in our region is paramount.”
