The Sweden international, 26, began the evening on the Danish side’s bench – before he came on in the latter stages.

And he stepped up to take a penalty in added time, only to see his spot kick saved by Andre Onana as Man Utd preserved a 1-0 win.

It comes more than 16 years after his father spent three months on loan at Man Utd.

Henrik was signed from Helsingborgs for a short period between January and March 2007.

It came less than one year after he had won the Champions League with Barcelona.

He made 13 appearances for the English giants, scoring three goals, and Sir Alex Ferguson was keen to keep him on for longer.

However, Larsson returned to Helsingborgs, before Man Utd went on to win the Premier League title two months later.

He was not eligible for a winner’s medal as he had made just seven appearances in the league.

However, the Premier League gave both him and Alan Smith special dispensation to receive a medal at the request of the club.

Larsson subsequently claimed he had never received the medal.

Meanwhile, forward Larsson Jr came through at Swedish side Hogaborgs BK, before he joined Helsingborgs in 2014.

Spells at the likes of Spartak Moscow and Schalke followed.

He then joined Copenhagen on loan in January, making the move a permanent one in the summer.
