A MAN has been found dead near an offshore wind farm as cops launch an urgent probe.
Police were called to New Brighton, in Merseyside yesterday evening.
HM Coastguard discovered the body near the Burbo Wind Farm at around 6.40pm.
Detectives have launched an investigation into the “unexplained” death.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to New Brighton yesterday evening on Wednesday 7 May following the unexplained death of a man.
“At around 6.40pm, we received a report from HM Coastguard that a man was sadly pronounced deceased off New Brighton near Burbo Wind Farm.
“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances into the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.
“The next-of-kin have been informed and being supported by specially trained officers.
