MYSTERY surrounds the death of a young man who disappeared on a night out with friends in Cornwall.
A body, identified locally as that of 20-year-old Matthew McGougan, was found on Sunday morning at Collegewood Viaduct in Penryn.
His devastated family are desperate for answers, and have urged people to check their CCTV.
In a Facebook post, his auntie Louise said her nephew – nicknamed “Maf” – was heading home to the Saracen area, and is understood to have walked through Falmouth after leaving his pals around midnight on Saturday.
She wrote: “Sadly Maf never made it home. So we’re appealing for information surrounding his final movements.”
Louise said CCTV in pubs and shops along Matthew’s suspected route are “being checked”.
She went on to say: “To trace his movements, we need anyone who lives along Greenbank, North Parade, Eastwood Road or the entrances to Glasney Woods to check their Ring doorbell footage.
But also he may have walked a different way, so can you please check for us, it takes a couple of mins and we would be so grateful.”
Louise added any information “is vital to piece together his last movements and give our family an idea of what happened”.
“Every micro second that can be accounted for will help us.”
