A MYSTERY sports star has stunned Majorca after racking up a jaw-dropping £55,000 bill on a single night out at a seafront hotspot.
The anonymous high-roller dined with 17 pals at Annabel Restaurant in Palma Nova, Calvià, leaving behind a receipt that’s got locals and tourists buzzing.

The feast included £38,000 worth of “various fish dishes” and a staggering 17 bottles of Dom Perignon Rosé.
Spanish outlet Ultima Hora reported the total came to €63,237.90 – about £55,000 – working out at £2,970 per head.
The restaurant, which only opened last month, shared the receipt on Instagram.
It teased: “Whose bill is this? Tag them below, please – we’d like to talk.”
It later dropped a cheeky hint that the lavish table may have included a “famous American athlete”.
The mystery has sparked feverish speculation online, with fans scrambling to guess which superstar sportsman could have forked out the five-figure fortune.
Instagram users rushed to play detective, throwing out names from the NBA, NFL and boxing world, though no one has yet claimed the five-figure feast.
The receipt itself reads like a millionaire’s shopping list, with pizzas, pastas and risottos dwarfed by the astronomical price of champagne and seafood.
The epic night of indulgence comes as Majorca’s restaurant trade is battling what bosses are calling a “hospitality crisis”.
Despite record tourist numbers, visitors are tightening their belts — with many opting to self-cater instead of splurging in bars and restaurants.
Last month, Miguel Carrió, president of the restaurants association on Paseo Mallorca, warned: “Palma is full, but they don’t go to bars or restaurants.
“They go to a supermarket, to the prepared food section, and take a loaf of bread and a slice of pizza to eat in their rooms.”
He added: “Families don’t have €3,000 to come on vacation.
“Plane tickets cost €1,000; there’s another €200 for a night in a hotel. How much does a week’s vacation in Mallorca cost? €5,000?”
Instead of €200 dinners out, Carrió said “many people prefer to pack their Tupperware to go to the beach”.
As the island grapples with a “hospitality crisis”, Annabel’s monster bill is a reminder that while everyday tourists are tightening their belts, the super-rich are still feasting like kings.
Meanwhile across Spain, the row over mass tourism is only growing louder.
From Majorca to Barcelona, residents have staged angry protests, spraying graffiti on hotels and chanting for “tourists to go home” as soaring costs, overcrowding and environmental strain fuel a backlash against the industry.
