Julen Lopetegui was the first when leaving Wolves before their opening fixture on August 8.

But the prices suggest Heckingbottom, 46, could follow suit following the club’s miserable 2-0 defeat to West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday.

The loss follows that 8-0 embarrassment against NewcastleIt, which was the heaviest defeat in the club’s history.

All told, it leaves Sheffield United rock-bottom of the division with just one point from their opening seven fixtures and a -14 goal difference having conceded a league-high 19 goals.

Despite that, Heckingbottom insists he retains the backing of Sheffield United’s hierarchy and has received assurances from club owner Prince Abdullah and chief executive Stephen Bettis.

He said: “We understand we need to be better. The support is there. Prince Abdullah was on the phone to me straight after the game, we speak regularly, that is not an issue. I spoke to Stephen as well.

“That is not my concern, my job is this building and the unity within this building. We need to be a team that suffers these results and goes on to achieve their goal, which in our case is to stay in the division.”

Heckingbottom’s record in the top division makes for grim reading having won just three of his 17 games as a Premier League manager.

Sean Dyche is next in the market at 7/1.

Everton clinched their first victory of the campaign over Brentford and followed that up with an impressive win against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup, but took two steps back when losing 2-1 to Luton Town at Goodison Park over the weekend.

Everton have dropped back to 16th with four points from a possible 21, and sit a single point above the relegation zone ahead of this weekend’s six-pointer against Bournemouth.

Wolves’ Gary O’Neil is 9/1 despite an astonishing win over treble-winning Manchester City, while Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag and Burnley’s Vincent Kompany are locked together at 12/1.
