However, United aren’t alone in their pursuit.
Premier League rivals Aston Villa, West Ham and Newcastle are all firmly in the frame, with each prominent in the betting markets.
Jackson, 24, joined Chelsea from Villarreal in June 2023 in a deal worth £31.8million, signing an eight-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
He has since scored 30 goals and provided 12 assists for the Blues, but now finds himself slipping down the pecking order following the arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.
His frustrations were further compounded after being left on the bench for Chelsea’s Club World Cup final victory over PSG – perhaps as punishment for being sent off twice in his previous four appearances for the club.

SunSport understand Chelsea’s preferred plan is to have two No9s battling for the starting role. However, club chiefs could be persuaded to part ways with Jackson if their £80m valuation is met.
It’s also undestood that Jackson has declined offers from Napoli and AC Milan in preference of staying in the Premier League.
