Jackson is eager to play for the Bavarians and has been camped in Munich, hopeful that an agreement will be reached.

He arrived on Saturday afternoon expecting to complete his medical but was then told to perform a U-turn by Chelsea chiefs after Liam Delap got injured against Fulham earlier in the day.

The Senegalese forward stayed put in Germany and determined to work with Bayern manager Vincent Kompany.

He first tried to sign him while he was still managing Anderlecht, and Jackson is determined to finally work with him.

Kompany held a phone call with the player before the initial loan deal was agreed, and that personal touch has convinced Jackson to reject a last-minute attempt from Juventus to hijack the move, as SunSport exclusively reported on Saturday.

Jackson’s situation is complicated by the fact that he is under contract at Chelsea for the next eight years.

The injury to Delap, which could see him out for up to eight weeks, has forced Chelsea to rethingtheir plans.

SunSport understands the club have now recalled Marc Guiu, suggesting there are doubts internally about how the Nicolas Jackson saga will end.

They have also been linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon forward Conrad Harder.

Sources close to Jackson insist his camp is fully committed and have spent the last 48 hours doing everything possible to get the deal done.

Jackson missed Chelsea’s opening match due to suspension but was also left out of the squad afterwards, with manager Enzo Maresca confirming the striker was not involved and could leave the club.

Maresca told reporters: “When the transfer window is open, unfortunately or fortunately, anything can happen. This also involves Nico’s situation.”

Newcastle had also looked at Jackson all summer but but have niw agreed a £55m deadline day move for Yoane Wissa.

Earlier on SunSport revealed Jackson entertained the idea to join the Magpies but his head has since been turned to Munich after speaking to Kompany.

Chelsea are happy to sell outright but the fee must be in the region of £60million.
