The American Reproductive Services was left in ruin after an explosion near East Tachevah Drive at around 11am this morning.
The blast also blew out the windows of nearby windows and was reportedly heard as far away as Desert Hot Springs.
Smoke was reportedly visible across Palm Springs, with residents complaining of a strange odor following the blast.
Horrified residents posted about the explosion on social media, with some even claiming they had spotted “body parts” at the scene.
The cops have launched an investigation into what caused the shock blast, and have reportedly not ruled out any lines of enquiry – including terrorism.
A representative from the Palm Springs Police Department, William Hutchinson, said the blast was caused by a bomb in or near a vehicle parked at the building.
A Palm Springs Police Department official added: “We’ve got a vehicle that appears to have exploded.
“It appears that we have a deceased person.
“Everything’s in question whether this is an act of terrorism, or what it is.”
A spokesperson for California’s Governor Gavin Newsom said: “Newsom has been briefed on the explosion at a health facility in Palm Springs.
“The state is coordinating with local and federal authorities to support the response.”
