He has provided plenty of drama along the way, surviving three match darts against Gerwyn Price in the quarter-final while also beating the likes of Gian van de Veen, defending champion Mike De Decker, and Jonny Clayton.
Snooker legend O’Sullivan has been impressed with Littler since he became pro, particularly the speed at which he has ascended to the top of his sport.
He also offered the youngster a key bit of advice – to keep his feet on the ground.
The Rocket told Daily Star Sport: “He’s number one already, winning tournaments.
“It’s only a matter of time before he’s officially number one. I wasn’t like that – I was top seven, top eight, then top four. But the kid’s out on his own. Phenomenal.
“I think he’s pretty smart, pretty sure of himself. He knows his game. There’s no one-size-fits-all – you have to find how you work best.
“Sometimes you don’t need to be at your best every time, sometimes you just peak at the right time. He seems very good at working it out for himself.
“I think for everyone, just keep your feet on the ground if you can – that’s the main thing.
