THE parents of a missing teen have broken their silence and revealed their fears about what could have led to her mysterious disappearance.

The last time Michael Sullivan, 45, and Ashley Anderson-Sullivan, 40, saw their 16-year-old daughter Alicia Anderson was Friday, January 19 at 4:32 pm.

Her last sighting was caught on her family’s Ring doorbell camera in Cary, North Carolina, a city 15 minutes west of Raleigh.

In the footage, she wore plaid red and black pajama bottoms, a hooded sweatshirt, and a pink backpack.

In their first interview since she vanished, the couple told The U.S. Sun that everything seemed business as usual before she disappeared.

“She laid on my bed and was talking about how stressful her exams were. She wanted to know if she could stay the night at [her friend’s house]. I said yes.

“Everything was absolutely normal.”

Ashley said her daughter hadn’t had a phone since November, so her parents thought she hadn’t been contacting anyone outside of school.

However, when police talked to her friends at school, her parents say they discovered that she had gotten her hands on an older phone.

“They said that she had been talking to older guys on Facebook,” said Ashley.

Alicia has had serious boyfriends previously, but her parents said she did not tell them about any men from Facebook.

“She had two steady boyfriends and she would talk about them with me,” said her mother.

“She’s literally not mentioned a guy in a long while now. So I didn’t even think there were any guys.”

Alicia is the youngest of three children. She has an older sister, Alexis, 24, and an older brother, Damien, 21.

Her family is devastated.

“It’s just gut-wrenching. Hard to eat, hard to sleep, hard to work. Your mind just goes in really bad places,” said her mother.

“This feels like every parent’s worst fear and it’s happening to us,” said her father.

“You hear about this kind of stuff all the time and you don’t think it’s gonna happen. Nothing can describe the kind of pain that this has caused us.”

Police said she often wears a rosary and shared a photo of some beads similar to her set.

She is Japanese-Caucasian and 5 foot 3 inches tall.

Please call Cary Crimestoppers at (919) 460-4636 or the Cary Police Department at (919) 469-4012 if you have any information on her whereabouts.

The U.S. Sun has reached out to police for further comment.
