But someone claiming to have been at the game has now shed more light about the moments leading up to the heart-stopping accident.

A person who said they were sitting five rows behind the man who fell claimed that he was drunk at the game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs.

During the inning before, the man reportedly “ripped his shirt off and poured beer all over himself,” the witness said.

“He jumped up from his seat when the Pirates got the hit,” the attendee recalled.

“He jumped up so quick, while being drunk, he literally propelled himself off the ledge.”

The attendee added, “He didn’t do it on purpose and no one pushed him.”

The witness reported the man was at the game with his girlfriend, a friend, and another woman.

“The friend ran to the lower deck in centerfield and jumped on the field,” the attendee said.

They added that the man was reportedly taken to a local hospital with a skull fracture.

Cops are still investigating the accident.

“This incident is being treated as accidental in nature,” Pittsburgh Public Safety said in a statement on X on Thursday morning.

“The patient remains in critical condition at the hospital.”
