Energumene finished last in the Queen Mother’s Chase

It led the way for the majority of the race but ended up finishing last out of the horses that finished.

Favourite Jonbon was beaten to the finish line by Marine Nationale after almost falling midway through the race.

Brighton owner Bloom owns several horses and he has never shied away from backing them with cash.

Last year he is believed to have lost £100,000 after backing his mare Atlantique in the Novices’ Hurdle.
