TWO primary schools have been plunged into lockdown following reports of a knifeman prowling the local area.
Children at both Bowlee Park Community School and St Mary’s RC Primary School in Manchester have been shut inside this morning over fears for their safety, according to MEN.

Parents were warned to stay away from the area following reports of a man with a knife in Bowlee Park, Middleton, this morning.
Police are investigating the incident while the kids remain safely locked down in the building.
Bowlee Park Primary School was pictured with shutters down all around the building.
Neighbouring school St Mary’s RC Primary School is also reportedly locked down.
Correspondence from Bowlee Park School, seen by MEN, confirms that the measures have been taken as a “precaution”.
It reads: “School have received information that an individual has been seen on the park carrying a knife.
“School have locked down as a precautionary measure. Children are safe in school.
“The police are dealing with the incident. Please do not come to school.
“We will give you a further update when we have more information.”
