A RANGE Rover has hit and killed a motorcyclist after being chased by cops – as a probe is launched into the killer crash.

The horror pursuit happened on the A3 near Putney Common, south-west London, on Monday morning when the car failed to stop for police.

Shortly after, the Range Rover collided with a motorbike and overturned on the residential street.

Sadly, nothing could be done to save the motorcyclist and they were declared dead at the scene.

It is not yet known what sparked the chase around 12.30am.

The occupant of the car was not seriously injured, say cops.

An independent investigation was declared just hours later at 5.49am.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is looking into the involvement of the Met Police prior to the fatal crash.

It is understood they were notified by the force shortly after – with IOPC investigators attending the scene.
