Sunak sorts it
RISHI Sunak has shown admirable and decisive leadership over the Post Office scandal.
This catastrophe for 700-plus innocent staff erupted years before he was PM — but he has acted rapidly to end it.

His unprecedented law clearing all those convicted is hugely welcome. The evidence against them was false.
It is a pity it will not be in place for months. But it will allow them to be richly compensated and begin new lives.
It remains astonishing that it took an ITV drama to get this monstrous 20-year injustice finally resolved, but there we are. We congratulate its makers.
That some of the wrongly accused died without justice, including four suicides, makes this grotesque saga even graver for those who perpetrated it.
Post Office Minister Kevin Hollinrake says there is evidence of “malevolence” from senior executives.
They must pay a heavy price. So must Fujitsu, which supplied the faulty IT system and swore it was perfect.
Politicians deserve blame too. Like gullible Lib Dem Ed Davey, who failed to act years ago.
What of Keir Starmer? At least 27 cases were pursued by the Crown Prosecution Service, including three when he was running it.
Labour says its leader knew nothing.
Funny, isn’t it, how Starmer claims credit for any CPS successes — yet none of its failures ever seemed to cross his desk?
Sick strikes
STRIKES by junior doctors have cancelled a million NHS appointments. Well done, the BMA.
That’s a million patients condemned to more worry, pain and even death.
We doubt it will bother the union’s arrogant Corbynite hotheads.
They have convinced themselves this deadly stalemate is the fault of Tory misers, not their insane and naive pay demands.
But we hope it will trouble the doctors themselves.
They imagined a rewarding career healing the sick, not prolonging suffering.
Genocide lie
THE Gaza “genocide” claim against Israel should be laughed out of the International Court of Justice.
Not just because it has been brought by South Africa — which obsessively loathes Israel, routinely sides against the West and abstains at the UN rather than condemn Russia’s atrocities.
But because it is ridiculous to suggest Tel Aviv aims to wipe out Palestinians.
It could have done so long ago if it wanted.
The civilian death toll is due to Hamas using them as human shields while hiding underground.
And if the tragic killing of civilians is “genocide”, it applies to most wars ever fought.
One side IS openly committed to genocide: The Jew-hating racists of Hamas.
Oddly, South Africa hasn’t mentioned it.
