RISHI Sunak today shot down suggestions he could call an early general election.
On the third day of Tory Conference in Manchester, the PM insisted going to the polls soon is “not what anybody wants”.

He said he’s too busy “getting on and delivering for people”.
Mr Sunak told Sky News: “That’s not what the country wants.
“I go out and about every day.
“That’s not what anybody wants. What people want is politicians making a difference to their lives.”

The PM added he’s not scared of holding an election, which would have to take place by January 2025 at the latest.
“I’m just getting on and delivering for people,” he said.
“You can see it with our progress on bringing inflation down, helping people. You can see it with a long term workforce plan, hiring doctors and nurses for the future.
“These are all things that are going to change our country for the better.”
It comes as Mr Sunak gears up to deliver his major conference speech tomorrow.
The make or break moment for the PM will see him do his best to sell an appealing vision of the future to the country, Tory members and MPs.
