THE Class of 92 could potentially win two snooker world titles within the space of one month in 2026.

Cueing legends Ronnie O’Sullivan, Mark Williams and John Higgins – who all turn 50 this year – will be eligible from May to compete on the World Seniors Tour.

Professional players ranked in the top 64 who are over the age of 45 were not previously allowed to compete in the veterans circuit.

But the existing agreement with the World Snooker Tour will be terminated following the conclusion of the 2025 World Championship.

This opens the door for three sporting icons to play the Crucible Worlds next year and then return, the week later, to the famous Sheffield theatre for the Seniors.

The trio, who have 14 world titles between them, are still positioned in the top six in the world, having been at the top of their game for 33 years.

Brazilian Igor Figueiredo is the defending seniors champion while Jimmy ‘The Whirlwind’ White has won a record four titles.

Jason Francis, chairman of World Seniors Snooker, said: “From next season any pro player over 45 can accept an invitation or enter a qualifier for a TV seniors event.

“That is provided it is staged on a day of no World Snooker Tour event.

“Hope that explains all the messages. Seniors now has the chance to use the bigger names to stage more events with more players.

“That means more prize money and more opportunities for amateur players. Dare to dream.”

It comes after 1985 world champ Dennis Taylor named O’Sullivan as his favourite to lift the Crucible title THIS year – if he decides to take part.

The Northern Irishman, 76, told Betway: “It would be a hell of a thing to do but the talent he has, you can’t put it past him.

“The only thing is he won’t be match fit. He proved it the last time when he came back and won it so you can’t count it out.

“It’s difficult to pick but if Ronnie plays, I’m still going to have him as favourite.”
