SARAH Payne’s sadistic killer Roy Whiting was left covered in blood after being stabbed in jail.

The paedophile was attacked at HMP Wakefield – known as Monster Mansion – over the weekend.

It is understood Whiting’s injuries were not life-threatening, the Mirror reports.

A source said: “Whiting is hated in prison. He was stabbed and was covered in blood. They were trying to kill him.”

Whiting was caged for life in 2002 after murdering eight-year-old Sarah.

The fiend snatched the youngster as she walked along a country to her grandparent’s home in Kingston Gorse, West Sussex.

Whiting has been subject to a string of attacks in prison since he was locked up.

In 2020, The Sun revealed how he was knifed by fellow lags you screamed “you f***ing n***e” at him.

The monster was also beaten by Richard Prendergast and Kevin Hyden, who both admitted Section 18 wounding with intent.

The pair had sneaked into Whiting’s cell at the high security jail and attacked him before staff managed to intervene.

He was also previously stabbed with a sharpened toilet brush handle by double murderer Gary Vinter.

While in 2002, killer Rickie Tregaskis slashed his cheek with a razor blade – leaving a 6ins scar.
