A SCHOOLGIRL who sparked a massive search after vanishing from a popular seaside town has been found safe and well.

Cops had launched the urgent search after Pixie, 12, disappeared from Bournemouth – having last been seen in the Westbourne area of the town at around 12.15pm on Saturday.

However, in an update yesterday, police confirmed they had found Pixie, following enquiries and an extensive search by officers.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We would like to thank the members of the public who contacted us with information and helped with sharing our appeal.”

Dorset Police said previously they were “growing concerned” for Pixie’s welfare due to her young age.

She had last been seen wearing a brown vest top, black cycling shorts and turquoise trainers.

Prior to her discovery, Inspector Scott Jones of Dorset Police said: “We are growing concerned for Pixie’s welfare due to her young age and that she has now not been seen for a number of hours.

“I would urge anyone who has seen Pixie, or has information about her whereabouts, to please get in touch.

“If you see this appeal Pixie – please get in touch with us or your family as we are all worried about you and just want to make sure you are OK.”
