A PRISON officer is being probed after being spotted at a protest outside a migrant hotel.

George Telford was seen standing beside a flag featuring a knife and skull and the message: “Kill ’em all, let god sort ’em out.”

It is understood the screw, who works at Polmont nick near Falkirk, was carpeted by bosses after pictures appeared online of him among the crowd of 1,000 demonstrators at the Cladhan Hotel in Falkirk.

Last night an insider at nearby Polmont prison revealed his colleagues had been left “shocked” by Telford’s actions.

The source said: “No one can believe how stupid he has been. He was pulled in by bosses when they became aware of it.

“Everyone is talking about it and most people are shocked by it.

“Everyone is entitled to their views but when you are a public servant you need to be careful around these things.

“Lots of people will question his fairness in dealing with any migrants that are sent to the jail.”

A Scottish Prison Service spokesman said: “We expect the highest standards of conduct from all our staff and have procedures in place to respond where they fall below this.

“It would be inappropriate to comment further on this matter at this time.”

We told how protesters clashed with anti-racism campaigners outside the hotel, which is accommodating asylum seekers.

Activists from the Save Our Future & Our Kids’ Futures group were separated from a pro-refugee demonstration held by Stand Up to Racism Scotland and Falkirk Trades Union Council.

Several roads were closed as cops stepped in to ensure safety last Saturday.

Demo organisers said they were “standing against uncontrolled illegal immigration” claiming: “

“This is about safety, justice and standing up for the people of Falkirk who deserve better.”
