TRIBUTES have been paid to a “much-loved” Scottish teenager who died after falling from a hotel balcony while on holiday.
David Alexander, 18, died after the tragic incident at the Galeon Playa Apart-Hotel on Lanzarote.

It is believed the teen was on holiday with his parents when the tragedy unfolded.
Cops probing the tragedy have told how David’s death is being treated as an accident.
Heartbroken friends and family have now paid tribute to the young college student who was “much-loved and respected”.
Jim McLaren, the head of Clydebank social inclusion charity Golden Friendships shared his tribute to the young Scot, saying he was a “very popular young man”.
He posted to the charity’s social media: “Sadly David lost his life in a tragic accident this week in Lanzarote.
“David was a very popular young man who loved being part of our club.
“His aunt Angela told me it was like a second home to him and brought him great friendship and happiness.
“On behalf of Golden Friendships we would like to offer our condolences to David’s family at this sad time.”
David’s former school also joined those paying tribute to him.
Vale of Leven Academy Headteacher Matthew Boyle told the Daily Record: “We are all very shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic and untimely death of our former student.
“David was a much-loved and respected School Base Champion Award 2021 winner, who was popular with his peers and all of our teachers and support staff.
“David’s family and friends are very much in our thoughts at this very difficult time.”
The teen had just started his game development course at the City of Glasgow College.
Golden Friendships bosses have announced they will be raising cash for David’s family by raffling off signed football tops.
An autographed Chris Sutton Celtic strip and Mark Hatley Rangers top are in the raffle.
Mr McLaren said: “A lot of our members at Golden Friendships want to do something to raise money for young David’s family as a way of trying to help after his tragic accident while on holiday.
“We are going to raffle 2 signed framed tops by Chris Sutton and Mark Hately and pass all money to family to try and help in a little way. 1st ticket chooses which top they want and the runner-up gets the other.”
