THIS is the shocking moment a man bravely fights off gunmen after being targeted in a case of mistaken identity.
Horrifying CCTV footage shows the victim getting shot outside his home as he attempts to stop the crooks from escaping.
Two men are seen waiting on motorbikes when the gunman runs over
But before they can make their getaway, the victim runs over
He pushes the pair, sending the bike crashing to the ground
In the video, two men can be seen waiting on motorbikes before the gunman runs up and hops on one of the getaway vehicles.
Seconds later, the victim sprints down his drive and pushes the pair off the bike, sending it crashing to the ground.
They appear to engage in conversation before one appears to draw a gun and heads towards the innocent man.
But moments after, he can be seen running away as the victim confronts him and chases him down the road.
Amid the chaos, the other two thugs get onto the second motorbike.
But once again, the victim runs over and manages to push over the vehicle.
His wife joins him outside their home in Gloucester as they attempt to prevent the gang from getting away.
After initially disappearing out of shot, the trio reappear and pick up the bikes.
As he runs back towards his house, the victim is then shot by the gunman, who drives off with his accomplices just seconds later.
Gloucester Police said the victim still requires treatment for his injuries following the horror attack in January this year.
The man, who may need his leg amputated in the future, was at home when he answered a knock at the door.
After being faced with the weapon, he bravely pushed it away and chased the man.
Bristol Crown Court heard an impact statement from the man, who admitted his home would “never feel safe again”.
He said: “Every time I hear a knock at my front door I am reminded of the events of that night.
“Every time I freeze and my mind races back to the horrible events that took place.
“My home is supposed to be my family’s sanctuary… and as a consequence of the defendants’ actions it will never feel safe again.
“I don’t think my life will ever be the same again. Even if my leg does heal one day the wounds to my mind will always be there.
“There is no statement that can fully explain all of the ways in which my life has been broken by their actions.
“My life changed completely in those few seconds, it will never be the same, and the trauma it has left my family will last forever.”
The court heard the victim was “an innocent man who lived on that road… a dangerous and almost fatal case of mistaken identity”.
Amid the chaos, he manages to push over the second motorbike and further delay the crooks

Two of the crooks, Simeon Bernard, 39, and Darren Atkins, 42, were jailed yesterday for a combined total of more than 28 years
Bernard, who shot the victim in the leg, admitted to wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
He was sentenced to 16 years and two months in jail.
Atkins received a sentence of 12 years and seven months after admitting to possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Detective Inspector Paula Hannaford said that the shooting was a case of “mistaken identity”.
She added: “This was a horrific incident for a family who we believe were not the intended target.
“The actions of the three men will have a lasting impact on the victims.
“I would like to thank them for their bravery throughout the police investigation and their willingness to provide evidence.
“My thanks also goes to all those involved in this painstaking and complex investigation.
“It is due to their efforts that guilty pleas were later provided.
“It is very important we identify the third outstanding man as this level of violent crime within our communities will not be tolerated.
“I urge anyone with information on who the third suspect is to please come forward.”
