It’s understood he thought his pool opponent was trying to hustle him.

In the footage, the two men can be seen arguing in the middle of a game as a woman also stands over the table.

The shooter then hands her the pool cue and turns around while he takes out a gun before firing several shots in quick succession and reportedly says “you’re a phony” just before 8pm on November 1.

The startled woman covers her ears and runs to another woman sat on a bar stool in a corner of the room.

The victim is able to flee while the gunman continues to fire from the doorway of the bar.

Meanwhile the two women grab their coats and also leave the venue.

The shooter is then seen calmly walking around the pool table and appears to empty the cases from the gun chamber.

The victim was reportedly shot multiple times, with prosecutors now opening an investigation into the gunman for attempted homicide.

Jesus Carozzi Martinez, 36, reportedly survived the shooting and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Details of the seriousness of his injuries were not revealed.

Martinez reportedly went to the police with gunshot wounds to his chest and arm and was later taken to the Casimiro Ulloa hospital, according to a Peru 21 report.

The authorities arrested the attacker and an investigation is ongoing.

The Public Ministry in Peru said on X, formerly Twitter: “First Corporate Criminal Prosecutor’s Office of Miraflores-San Borja-Surquillo (1st Office) opened a preliminary investigation against Benito Graffagnino for alleged crime of homicide (attempted) to the detriment of Jesús Carozzi Martinez, injured by gunshot wounds in a store in Miraflores.”
