SHOCKING footage shows the moment a toddler in a pushchair appears to take a puff from a vape while a woman watches on and does nothing.

Sitting by a bus stop next to a younger girl and an adult woman, the tot is spotted holding what is thought to be an e-cigarette.

The incredible scene is said to have taken place in Washwood Heath, Birmingham, according to the original poster.

The social media video shows him appearing to blow smoke in the air after a taking a puff right next to the adult as shocked bystanders watched on.

But instead of immediately confiscating the alleged vape, the woman continues to scroll on her phone while smoking on her own cigarette.

She even appears to look straight at the child without any hint of reaction.

The video was captioned: “Woman in Washwood Heath, Birmingham casually having a vape with her child. Thoughts???”

Social media users were quick to take to the comment section to share their opinions.

One said that the footage was “disgusting”.

Another said it was “absolutely nuts”.

While a third commented that allowing the tot to vape was akin to “child abuse”.

However, a fourth pointed out: “She looks like a child herself, probably her sister.”

And another user believed that the ‘vape’ was actually a kids sweet.

They wrote: “There’s kids sweets that blow out a dust to make it look like their smoking probably 1 of them you know.”

West Midlands Police told The Sun they are “aware of the video and are carrying out enquiries”.

It comes after news earlier this month that sweet vape flavours could be banned under a major e-cig crackdown.

The Health Secretary said he’s concerned that young kids are getting dangerously hooked on flavours such as strawberry ice and bubblegum.

And he pledged to enforce a major clampdown on vape companies marketing products towards children.

The Department of Health has launched a public consultation on the issue which will be used to guide future policies, such as a sweet flavour ban.

There’s been a shocking three-fold increase in the number of children who vape.

Ministers believe that now as many as one in five kids have puffed on one.

Australia has already banned all forms of vaping, while Germany has outlawed all flavoured e-cigarettes.

As vaping is still a relatively new product, it’s too soon to know what the health effects are.

However, many studies show that vaping is far less harmful than smoking.

This is because e-cigarettes don’t contain tobacco, which is linked to causing cancer.

But vapes are not risk-free.

They can cause side effects such as throat and mouth irritation, headache, cough and feeling sick.

It has also been reported that vapes have been linked to at least five deaths in Britain.
