SIR ALEX FERGUSON celebrated alongside Coronation Street star Alan Halsall as his horse Caldwell Potter won at the Cheltenham Festival.
Ferguson, 83, bought Caldwell Potter at auction last year for £620,000 alongside Ged Mason and the late John Hales.

The expensive horse didn’t immediately yield results for the group, but ridden by jockey Harry Cobden claimed victory in this afternoon’s Jack Richards Novice Limited Handicap Chase.
Upon seeing his horse claim victory, and a cool £65,000, Ferguson beamed and hugged his pals.
Amazingly, Corrie star Halsall was among the Scot’s group.
The 42-year-old has played Tyrone Dobbs in the soap opera since 1998.
Ferguson and Halsall appear to be unlikely pals, having also been spotted together at Cheltenham last year.
Caldwell Potter’s victory was bound to be an emotional one for Ferguson.
His pal Hales, instrumental in acquiring Caldwell Potter, sadly died in January.
In tribute, jockey Cobden wore Hales’ yellow and red silks.

The pair celebrated alongside Halsall and Sam Allardyce as Ferguson watched his first ever Cheltenham winner.
Caldwell Potter is trained by Paul Nicholls, who also passionately celebrated the win.
Ferguson was also classily congratulated by Caldwell Potter’s former trainer Gordon Elliott.
