A SUSPECTED stalker armed with a knife has been arrested for allegedly targeting Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey and his family.
The MP reportedly called in police after enduring months of harassment during which a man turned up at their home and his constituency office.

The suspect is understood to have become fixated on Sir Ed and approached him and his family on several occasions.
When police swooped on the 58-year-old suspect earlier this month, he was found with a knife.
Veteran politician Sir Ed, 59, and his family are said to be “massively relieved” there has been an arrest.
The stunt-loving party leader — MP for Kingston and Surbiton — lives in South West London with his wife Emily, their disabled son John, 17, and his younger sister, Ellie.
A source said: “This has been a traumatic ordeal for Sir Ed and his family. The man seems to have got fixated. They are pleased police acted when they did.
“This is normally the sort of thing that happens to celebrities and pop stars.
“They just hope it is all over and they can move on with their lives.
“It has been deeply troubling and Sir Ed has had all this in the background, while leading his party.”
Sir Ed has led the Lib Dems since 2020.
Wife Emily — a party councillor — was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2012.
They are carers for severely disabled son John, who was born with a neurological condition that affected his brain development.
In an interview, Sir Ed said caring for John — who is mostly non-verbal — was “way harder than being a political leader”.
A Lib Dem spokesperson said: “We cannot provide details. Ed’s priority is his family’ safety.”
A 58-year-old man has been charged with one count of stalking involving serious alarm or distress and one count of possession of a knife.
