He was demolished 6-0 by the world champion on night eight in Newcastle.
But he created history after recording an impressive average of 102.15 – the highest-ever Premier League average recorded by a losing player.
Unfortunately for Bunting he was up against the Premier League’s best player this year – Littler.
The Nuke tops the leaderboard with 26 points after winning four nights and 16 matches.
Incredibly, Littler has already hit the century mark for 180s thrown in this year’s competition.
The next best player has not even managed 50, with Luke Humphries on 45 and Bunting last on 24.
Littler also thumped world No1 Humphries in the final 6-1 and after the match he accepted he might now be the best in the world.
He said: “I think that goes to show how everyone does say I’m the best in the world at the minute.

“But you know me I’ll never really say I’m the best in the world.
“I but I’m performing better than these guys so maybe I should be saying I’m best in the world.
“For myself when I’m playing certain players I know when I’ve got them and it goes to show.
“Humphries shows a bit too much and as a player you’re like he’s at 60 or 41 and he’s not happy about it then his next throw he is the same score so you just have to pounce.”
