STORM Debi has been named by the Irish Met Office with warnings of 80mph gales.

Strong winds and heavy rain are expected to batter the country in just hours, warn the weather service.

The stormy weather is predicted to cause disruption

The stormy weather is predicted to cause disruption for much of the country as it starts in Northern Ireland and heads towards England.

Powerful gusts will start in the south east of NI heading east across the rest of the UK during the early hours of Monday morning.

South of England will remain slightly settled whereas the north and moving up to Scotland will be largely affected.
