STUART Hogg’s domestic abuse victim wife tonight slammed the soft court sentence handed to the disgraced ex-Scotland rugby captain — as he was spared jail, unpaid work or even a fine.

Mum-of-four Gillian, 38, hit out after a sheriff gave the creep 12 months’ community supervision for tormenting her for years.

His tormented wife also blasted a sheriff for saying there was “no point interrupting” his career.

Gillian Hogg insisted “no sentence” would ever make up for the “heartache and pain” she suffered during the five-year campaign of abuse.

But she admitted the one-year community supervision order handed to the former Scotland captain felt like “no punishment”.

In a rare move, his behaviour will be monitored remotely while he continues to pursue a lucrative playing career with Montpellier in France.

But Sheriff Peter Paterson also sparked anger by saying the star could be excused from attending a “review” of the sentence on March 25.

The law chief told Jedburgh Sheriff Court: “I am going to impose a community payback order with supervision.

I feel like Stuart’s had absolutely no punishment. My first thought was, is that it? It’s not enough.

“There will be a review of that on the 25th March.

“As far as the order is concerned I have no doubt Mr Hogg will comply. The reason why I think a review is appropriate is that it is an unusual order.

“I want to be satisfied that the order is working satisfactorily.

“It may be that if I receive a satisfactory review report then we can excuse Mr Hogg’s attendance at the hearing because there is no point in interrupting his career.”

But Gillian, 38, who did not attend the hearing, exclusively told The Scottish Sun: “His career should never have been brought up.”

She added: “I feel like Stuart’s had absolutely no punishment. My first thought was, is that it? It’s not enough.

“No sentence will ever be enough for all of the abuse, heartache and pain he put me through for years. It feels like that hasn’t been acknowledged.

“I’m very happy with the fact that I never need to deal with him, have nothing to do with him for five years.

“That is a massive relief and I’m just looking forward to moving on in my own life.”

Hogg, in dark jacket and tie, earlier made no comment to reporters as he left court with his parents before being escorted by cops to a waiting motor.

The court heard previously how he used an app to track her whereabouts and bombarded her with 200 distressing messages in just a few hours.

Tonight a source close to Gillian slated the sentence.

They said: “He has got away with this. It’s a f****** disgrace what has just happened.

“There is no punishment at all. I really cannot believe this.”

Disgraced Hogg was previously fined £600 plus handed a £40 victim surcharge and told not to approach Gillian for five years last month over a bail breach.

Hogg – who is facing calls to be stripped of his MBE – previously pleaded guilty to a single charge of domestic abuse spanning five years until August 2024.

The court previously heard how he berated Gillian for “not being fun” after opting out of drinking binges with him and pals.

Prosecutor Drew Long said Hogg’s “behaviour deteriorated” as he went out partying after the family moved to England when he joined Exeter Chiefs in 2019. He said that her family “noticed a change in her”.

Stuart Hogg’s pregnant girlfriend shares baby shower snaps as he’s sentenced

STUART Hogg’s pregnant girlfriend shared snaps from her baby shower minutes after her disgraced partner was spared jail.

Leonna Mayor, who announced in September she was having the shamed rugby star’s fifth child, flooded social media with pics from her hot tub getaway within minutes of the brute leaving court.

The horse racing presenter and pundit, 34, once dubbed “the world’s sexiest jockey”, has stood by the disgraced ex-Scotland skipper throughout court proceedings.

She’s previously been accused of victim blaming after taking aim at Hogg’s estranged wife Gillian.

Moments after Hogg left Court, pregnant Wag Leonna shared pictures from her intimate baby shower to Instagram.

With tags including #Family and #Bettertogether, she shared to her 37,000 followers: “Through all the coughs sneezes and baby kicks. We managed to have a wonderful baby shower organised by my mother.

“So nice to have family and friends in one place for the day.”

Among the nine snaps show the mum-to-be posing with her loved ones in a blue bathing suit before taking a dip in a hot tub.

Other pics show a blue balloon arch, a baby cake and a haul of presents for the unborn lad.

Dozens of well-wishers flooded the comments.

One gushed: “Amazing. You truly deserve it. Best of luck to you.”

While another wrote: “Congratulations. God Bless.”

A third added: “You look incredible”.

But other comments were marked as “hidden” from the feed.

Three years later while on a night out she was flooded with messages from the shamed star which “caught the attention of the people she was with”, the court heard.

Hogg used an app to track his wife and “questioned her whereabouts” while she was dropping the children off after they moved to Hawick, Roxburghshire, in 2023.

Gillian decided to leave the dad of her four kids and sought advice from a domestic abuse service.

She suffered a panic attack that September after he “sent in excess of 200 texts in a few hours despite being asked to leave her alone”.

Cops were called due to the family home last February due to the disgraced ex-Glasgow Warriors full-back “shouting and swearing”. He was bailed but ordered not to contact Gillian or enter her pad.

Hogg had been due to be sentenced on the domestic abuse charge last month.

But Sheriff Paterson deferred sentence until Thursday for clarification on how the community order could work while he lived abroad.

I can’t imagine that anyone would think that a £600 fine and a year’s worth of supervision is proportionate to a regime of terror for five years

Dr Marsha Scottof Scottish Women’s Aid

Hogg’s lawyer Angela Gray KC, representing Hogg, told the court in December that the 32-year-old will be remaining in France until at least March.

He announced his retirement from professional rugby in July 2023 before announcing a comeback last summer, signing a two-year contract with the French side.

It came after he was made an MBE for services to the sport in last year’s New Year Honours list.

Last night, SNP Westminster chief Stephen Flynn said on X: “He should be stripped of his MBE.”

Campaigners described the punishment as “trivial”.

Dr Marsha Scott, of Scottish Women’s Aid, said: “We have a long history of sentencing domestic abuse perpetrators to what are really quite trivial sentences.

“I can’t imagine that anyone would think that a £600 fine and a year’s worth of supervision is proportionate to a regime of terror for five years.”

Tonight the Judicial Office for Scotland said: “When deciding a sentence, judges will always carefully consider the facts established in court and take into account the unique factors of each case.

“They will carefully consider the circumstances of the particular offence, what sentence is most appropriate in terms of punishment, reducing reoffending and protecting the public, having regard to relevant sentencing guidelines.”
