Tamworth, who are 16th in the fifth tier National League, caused Spurs problems throughout.
Winger and Zara shop assistant Beck-Ray Enoru was a threat, sandwich maker Tom Tonksâs long throw panicked them and bricklayer Dan Creaney lead the line with physicality.
âPremier League you are having a laughâ and âyou are getting sacked in the morningâ chanted the Tamworth fans at Spurs and Ange Postecoglou.
Both teams had chances to win it in normal time.
But in extra-time, Tottenham got the goal as Nathan Tshikuna failed to sort his feet out and turned a low cross into the box.
Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson then doubled their lead.
