Amrinder Singh Pannu, 38, made the lewd comments to one of his students, referred to as Pupil A.
The incident took place at St Mark’s Church of England school in 2018 and Pannu was subsequently suspended and dismissed when the conversation came to light.
According to a Teaching Regulation Agency report, the pupil secretly recorded voice notes in Pannu’s classroom during a free period.
He allegedly told her “you’re one horny girl man, f***” and “you’re not teasing me, I know you want it” or words of a similar nature.
During the same conversation, Pannu can also be heard telling Pupil A that she has a “nice a**e”.
Pupil A then reportedly asked whether the Pannu would have sex with her when they turned 18 to which he replied “a few months then later yeah”.
The recordings also revealed Pannu telling Pupil A: “if you were in a different school then it would have been a different story”.
Following the shocking encounter, an anonymous whistelblowing email was sent to three members of the school’s staff containing the recordings.
An urgent investigation was launched by the school and Pannu was suspended.
When the student was questioned, she said that her and Pannu would often talk normally about travelling or university.
But she admitted to investigators that Pannu knew their interactions weren’t right.
According to the student, he would tell her to not tell anyone as it would ruin his life.
Pupil A said that after telling her friends about the situation with Pannu, they didn’t believe her so she recorded the conversation.
Defending himself to the Teaching Regulatory Agency panel, Pannu said that he was worried about Pupil A’s behaviour but put it down to a “crush” or “pushing boundaries”.
He was adamant that no physical contact occurred between the two of them and the conversation in question took place when they were either side of a desk.
Pannu, who began working at the school in September 2015, was permanently banned – the panel recommended a prohibition order with no opportunity for review.
They found that his conduct “fell significantly short of the standards expected of the profession”.
A spokesperson for Anthem Schools Trust, which manages St Marks’s school, said in a statement that the teacher was “suspended and dismissed” in 2018 after the “incident came to light”.
‘This is a case from 2018 which occurred under historic leadership and no current student at the school was taught by the individual concerned,” they added.
‘St Mark’s is committed to the wellbeing and success of all its students and this is why the school has been rated by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas, following its recent inspection in 2024.’
