Teenage girl sexually assaulted on bus during rush hour sparking urgent manhunt with CCTV released

COPS have launched an urgent manhunt and released CCTV footage after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted on a bus during rush hour.

The incident took place in Birmingham Road in Great Barr, Birmingham, on Thursday, March 20.

The teenager was sexually assaulted on the No. 51 bus at around 8.55am.

West Midlands Police have now released a CCTV image of a man officers would like to speak to.

He is white and is wearing a red beanie hat and large sunglasses.

The image also shows him wearing a white and blue checked shirt along with a dark jacket.

The bus route travels between Walsall town centre and Corporation Street in the heart of Birmingham.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We want to speak to this man after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted on a bus in Great Barr.

“It happened on the number 51 service along Birmingham Road at around 8.55am on 20 March.

“Anyone with information can contact us via Live Chat on our website, or by calling 101, and quote 20/188176/25.”

Alternatively, anyone with any information can contact independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously by calling 0800 555 111.
